The OKİL Door Securing Occupational Safety Lock System was developed by Haluk ATEŞER, a teacher. Between 2010 and 2014, it was manufactured by the family-owned company Defne-San Ltd. Şti. Following the establishment of Ateşer Kilit Sistemleri Enerji, İnşaat, Gıda, Taah. San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. in 2014, the system was further developed and put into mass production.
